HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — Scirocco Group, a New Jersey-based insurance firm, recently was recognized by Business Insurance as one of the Best Places to Work in Insurance within the United States. To be chosen, companies had to demonstrate a minimum standard of excellence in the areas of leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, relationships with managers, training and development, pay and benefits, and overall engagement.

An independent research firm was used to conduct the two-part assessment process that determined which companies were chosen. The first part of the process—responsible for 75% of a company's score—involved a confidential 76-question employee engagement and satisfaction survey, used to evaluate employees' workplace experience and the company culture. The second part of the assessment—responsible for 25% of a company's score—was an employer questionnaire, which collected information about each company's employee benefits programs, employment policies, practices and other general information. Using the two sets of data, researchers then performed an in-depth analysis of the strengths and opportunities at each company.

Only 33 companies were chosen by Business Insurance to be celebrated as part of what they consider “an elite group of employers that have created high-quality workplaces that encourage employees to thrive in a work environment they can love.”
